Developing Design Idea One

(Click on an image to enlarge it, then click the back arrow)
This is our first draft of the layout of our magazine front cover for a film magazine. We began by first adding the recognised convention of a masthead and also used the conventional layout by placing this at the top in the centre.

We then decided the positioning of the main coverline which will be the the title of our film to be in the centre and half way down the page. Although we have positioned it here we may have to adjust it once we add the main image so as the overall layout is cohesive and looks professional.

Another common convention we have used is a strapline, we are using as a sort of secondary heading to the main coverline. The positioning of this is often seen above other text as we saw whilst carrying our our research.

Furthermore we have what is seen as an essential to any magazine, a bar code. Without this the magazine could not be sold in shops, again we chose the stereotypical composition and placed this in the bottom left hand corner.
